About Relief Consulting
I’ve spent my life learning how people work under pressure, and what helps them deliver with confidence. I learned this early. At 17 I was living independently and supporting myself through my studies. It was a tough start, and it shaped what drives me and the kind of work I’ve always been drawn to. I carried that into a nearly 30‑year career inside a large UK charity.
Helping people understand their problems and the options available to them has always come naturally to me. I thrived on this in my early IT career, where the work allowed me to use those abilities every day. Later, in my senior PMO role, I learned many new skills and gained a deep understanding of how a large international organisation operates, helping leaders improve decision‑making, business planning, and the way they organise work to support their people.
After almost three decades in one organisation, I reached a point where I wanted to do more, so I stepped out and created something of my own.

I began a period of independent research to explore the common challenges in organisations today. A recurring theme emerged from the evidence: that the most common challenges relate to stress, and relieving this stress requires a combined sense of value and empowerment.
This perspective shaped the way I think about organisations, and it became the basis of the RVE approach.
My approach is built on two simple foundations:
People First
Systems do not deliver outcomes. People do. When an organisation’s people feel valued and empowered, they will feel relieved and naturally deliver with confidence.
Plain English
Clear language is the fastest way to solve problems and ensure everyone understands what we are trying to achieve.
